Well, today I go and check the feeder to find ants crawling all over it. I decided to clean it out, and put some new “nectar” into it. Then I put the feeder on the hanging chain for a few days while the ants dissappate. I also took the time to create a “6-month pest defence” around and on the pole with some bug spray I had, by the gallon.

Instead of pesticide (ick), go to the nursery and ask for "Tanglefoot" which is a sticky substance you can put on the chain so the ants can't go down it.
